Everyday Fulfillment

Mar 29, 2026    Pastor Dan Buchert

This powerful message challenges us to move beyond merely reciting the Lord's Prayer to actually living it out in every aspect of our lives. Drawing from Matthew 6:13 and 1 Chronicles 29:11, we're confronted with three transformative concepts: kingdom, power, and glory. The central revelation is that we all possess our own kingdom—our relationships, dreams, finances, and goals—along with power to do good or harm, and a desire for significance. Yet true fulfillment comes only when we surrender our kingdom, power, and glory to God's. The message exposes a profound truth: we were not only created by God but created for God. This explains why so many people feel an inexplicable emptiness despite having successful careers, families, and material possessions. When we live for ourselves, we're like a puzzle missing crucial pieces. The sermon unpacks three keys to a fulfilled life: living by God's agenda instead of our own, operating in God's power rather than our strength, and pursuing God's glory rather than our own recognition. Through the acrostic FIRST—Finances, Interests, Relationships, Schedule, and Troubles—we're given practical ways to put God first. The challenge of the Jordan River crossing reminds us that God often requires us to step out in faith before we see the miracle, moving through difficulties, delays, and discouragement before experiencing deliverance.
