Only One

What if everything we thought we knew about God's rules was backwards? This message turns the conventional religious mindset on its head by revealing that the Ten Commandments were never meant to be a checklist for earning God's approval. Drawing from Exodus 20, we explore how God rescued the Israelites from Egypt a full fifty days before He ever gave them the law -- which means the relationship came first, and the commandments came second. That sequence changes everything. The first two commandments, having no other gods and refusing to fashion anything in God's place, form the foundation on which all the others rest. When God is truly at the center of our lives, the remaining eight commandments begin to make natural, organic sense. But when we flip the order and try to perform our way into God's favor, we end up with religion instead of relationship -- a treadmill of effort that leads to burnout, loopholes, and a God we are constantly trying to manage rather than genuinely trust. The invitation here is not to be good. It is to be free.
