What does it actually mean to grow spiritually? It turns out that simply showing up is only half the equation. Drawing from Jesus's teaching in Matthew 7:24-27, we explore the profound difference between the wise builder and the foolish one. Both heard the same words. Both faced the same storms. The difference was not in what they heard but in what they did with it. Hearing plus doing equals the difference, and that formula changes everything about how we think about our faith. We are challenged to move beyond the comfort of simply receiving spiritual truth and step into the harder, more rewarding work of actually living it out. The storms of life do not discriminate, they come for everyone, which means the foundation we build on right now matters more than we might realize.
